Racial Equity Starts at Home: Talking to Kids About Race

This is a difficult time to be a parent. We’re raising kids in the face of so much uncertainty and upheaval—escalating racial injustice, war, political unrest and violence, backlash to equity, and attacks on civil rights.

It’s hard enough as an adult to wrap our heads around what’s going on in the world. How do we explain things to our kids? How do we bring up difficult topics like racism or inequality? How do we do talk about these issues in way that’s open, honest, and age-appropriate? And how do we do any of this as overworked and overwhelmed parents?

Join us for this online workshop designed with busy parents and caregivers in mind. We’ll explore how to have meaningful conversations about racial equity with your kids. Discover strategies for teaching antiracism, learn how to diversify playtime, and find out why you should teach your kids to see color. The workshop will also share tools and recommendations for how families can spot and confront inequities while raising kids who stand up for justice.
